Mama Tigre is an absolute must visit if you are a fan of Indian and Mexican cuisine! I've heard of Mama Tigre for the past few years and have been meaning to try for so long. Came here after work and enjoyed some of their happy hour items along with entrees. The ambiance is beautiful with Latin/Indian inspired decor and images. It was very spacious and had various combinations of high tops, booths, and tables. To start, I tucked into their chips and salsa - super flavorful and provided a great start to the meal. Tasted like a classic Indian side salad with cilantro which was refreshing. The Butter Chicken Tacos were INCREDIBLE! The roti canai, Malaysian style roti used in the dish, provided a light sweetness to compliment the flavorful tandoori roasted chicken with a spicy butter chicken sauce. The vegetables on top of the tacos were so fresh and crisp to provide a lovely crunch to each bite. I'm still dreaming about them to this day! The star of the show was the Masala Burrito! Such a large, well cooked dish that will leave you so full and satisfied with its bursts of flavor. All vegetables, rice, and meat were blended together well and allowed for the cheese topping to coat the burrito perfectly. The service was speedy and our waiter made sure our glasses were full and that we ordered as much as we desired. I am counting the days till I visit Mama Tigre again!

Been going here for last few years, never once disappointed in anyways. Good food, excellent service and nothing to even complain. They were exterminated busy on Friday evening but still got us a seat in 20 minutes. Server quickly provided drinks and food. Another great experience, never let us down.

And we are back again here .... Wednesday night and the place is packed !! Took us 20'mins to get a seat , but we went straight to the bar to have a drink while we wait. Got our favorite Tres Chili Margarita! Came out perfect ! The place was hustling, the manager came to take our order and said he would not be bringing our food, so hope that was ok with us. This itself was a courteous comment. Think this time round we were more greedy and wanted to try some thing different from the menu. Ordered Chicken tikka taco , Lamb Birria , Camarones Masala, Mixed Combo Tacos and Fajitas. This was so much of food and every bite was delicious. My daughter commented that the Lamb Birria was so well slow cooked and scrumptious that it reminded her of my cooking .... Think this is going to definitely get her back there. I ordered one more Margarita and that didn't come out as the others so the manager took it back and made it perfect and got it back. Appreciate, the effort. The waiter came to our table twice to check on us . Great potion size and lots of food taken as doggy bag. I still feel the place is a little noisy but my kid and hubby felt that the music and ambiance was what makes this place so wanna try out. Great job Renu !!!

Second visit (5/24)!!! (Starter shrimp and guacamole, Jambalaya, steak fajitas and enchiladas) We need a bigger table next time . If 5 stars was not the max I would give 1000 to this resturant without hesitation. Everything we ordered was superb! (First visit 4/24) Wow... I can't wait for my next visit. From the atmosphere to our waiter, to my food, EVERYTHING was perfect!!! This is the first time I've finished a salsa bowl! The steak chimichunga went above my expectations. And the green sauce (verda?) on the enchilada, I wish I could drink it!!!

The best. I am mainly leaving this review because of the current squawk code that it is holding. Additionally the restaurant is great and the people should know .

Mama Tigre was a pleasant surprise to me! Perhaps the idea of Mexican/Indian fusion was really odd but at the same time so so so daring that I have to applaud the restaurant for being something unique to the DMV Area. This place is full of personality; there's lots of cool decorations on the wall including a cool mural. Inside it's very vibrant with the amount of people chattering at the bar and even the dining section. I was pleasantly surprised that there was so many people here wanting to try the same food. I went here around 7 PM and had to wait at least half an hour for a table. The wait didn't feel so bad as I passed the time by reading their menu and just talking to the staff. They are really friendly and even helped me figure out what to eat too. When I did get sat down, I got a tray of chips and salsa to start off with. A good sign that I won't feel like I have to wait even more for an appetizer or longer for the entrée to come out. My waiter was very nice and kind and even helped narrow down what I would probably get since it's my first time here. I ended up getting Lamb Birria, as I personally have never tried it out before. It came out in two different plates, one plate having basmati rice, onions, lettuce with chunks of fruit and corn, with Naan Bread. The other plate was the Consommé, a stew with herbs and spices with jalapenos and birria itself in it. There's no real way to eat it, so I just did what felt best for me. Add the birria and a bit of the consommé and mix it in with the rice. I also just dipped the Naan Bread by itself into the broth and ate it as is. There is a lot going on here but I can really say this; the birria is delicious by itself and is very tender. It was great with the basmati rice and when adding that along side with vegetables I enjoyed it with all the different components coming together. The Naan... probably one of the best Naans I ever ate in my life. I wish I ordered more to order to dip for the Consommé in. The dessert was also really good too. Simple yet effective I got Churros. Rolled in cinnamon sugar, these fried delights are just also equally good as the entrée. Caramel, Chocolate Syrup and Whipped Cream also makes this stand out more aesthetically in my opinion too. Overall I felt like the prices were on point, the quality of the food was extremely well, and I definitely enjoyed my time here at Mama Tigre. I'm going have to say it's one of my favorite restaurants I've visited this year and I'll come back for more.

I was quite intrigued when my friend suggested this Indo-Mexican restaurant for dinner during my recent trip to Virginia. What a cool concept. We got there around 7 pm on Friday and had to wait around 30 minutes to get a table. The ambience is lively and fun. We started off with the Masala fries and Margaritas. I got the guava margarita, which was so tasty. For my main I got the chicken masala enchiladas. The portion sizes were huge. Everything was packed with flavor!!

Blown away by this place. I think because of it being fusion my expectations were pretty low. We got an assortment of food including masala fries, ceviche, camarone masala, tikka tacos. All food was highly talked about by myself and everyone in my party. I love that they give you free chips and salsa. The shrimp masala was beyond words. I loved the flavor. My friends fajitas coming with naan instead of tacos shells was such a unique spin on a traditional dish. We sat in the bar area for happy hour and we were well taken care of. It was packed on Friday so glad we were able to get a spot.

Ambiance: very cute restaurant with hints of Mexican and Indian. Their menu shows blends of both foods. Food: complimentary chips and a pico salsa is served. I ordered pork tamales that were really good: lots of shredded pork inside of the fresh cooked masa. Everyone in our group really enjoyed their dishes. Service: our server, Omar was so accommodating. He didn't rush us on ordering and when we finished. He offered some food suggestions: those who took his suggestions were very happy. Tip: there's no reservations for parties under 8.

Ambiance: the restaurant stands alone with a private parking lot right next to a post office. Lots of parking available but on a Saturday night it was a massive traffic jam. Once inside it's super crowded, lots of bar patrons and the dining area is very crowded. I can't imagine what this place would be like during Covid, too close for comfort. Despite the crowd, we enjoyed our meal and the service was spot on. The menu is a variety of Mexican and Indian. I opted for their Jambalaya Remixed: a blend of proteins(beef, chicken and shrimp). The rice had a nice flavor.
